Creating a Classic Cheese Platter
How to create a classic charcuterie board:
- Choose your cheeses. Add 3 or 4 cheese selections ranging from mild to strong to give your cheese board a good balance. A wedge of brie, a crumbly manchego, a soft swiss and a strong bleu are my go-tos.
- Add a couple of meats. Slices of hard sausage, prosciutto, pepperoni, salami.
- Fresh & Dried Fruits. Grapes, apple slices, berries, dried apricots, figs
- Nuts. Pecans, cashews, walnuts, peanuts. You can go with unsalted, salted or sweet candied nuts.
- Honey, jam, chutney. My favorites are fig jam and a red pepper jelly for a sweet and spicy combo. You can also use apple or pumpkin butter for a more seasonal flair.
- Olives and pickled veggies.
- Crackers and breads
