I’m extra excited for Halloween this year! I feel like we all just really need something fun to look forward to and Halloween is kind of the kick-off to the holiday season. It’s also my favorite time of the year! Fall gets me excited for a change of weather, a change of scenery outside and the chance to change up the look of things inside.

Halloween Decorations and Ideas
My kids love to put up Halloween decorations inside and out. We decorate everything from the front porch to the fireplace. It’s something fun we get to do as a family and it also puts everyone in the spirit of the season.Â
Since it’s SPOOKY season we decided to decorate inside this year with a not too scary scene that would be fun for everyone. Even though honestly my youngest is pretty much fearless, we wanted to keep it on the friendlier side and not freak him out with too many scary Halloween props.
Party City Halloween Decorations
We masked up and made our way to Party City to check out all their awesome Halloween decorations. Ya’ll know I’ve been a die hard fan of Party City for years. As a party planner it’s like the mother ship for planning celebrations. But did you also know they have tons of Halloween decor that’s awesome and affordable. You can find everything from the cute Halloween stuff to the creepiest decorations to really haunt your house out. They’ve got blow-up Halloween decorations for the yard, hanging ghosts and ghouls for indoors and out and so much more!

Since we knew we wanted to give our fireplace and our front entry a spooky make-over we focused on finding decorations that would fit those spaces. We found a giant spider that was perfect! With some stretchy white web, smaller spiders and a few skeletons we could make a big effect without spending too much.
My son found these little mice to add to the mix. They’re kinda creepy, but kinda cute actually. I also found these black bats that were so easy to hang. Simply peel and stick and you’ve got a dramatic look that costs just a few dollars and works on a mirror, wall, window, door… almost anywhere!
Halloween Gauze Decorating Kit with Glitter Bats
Now that we’ve given the inside of our home a spook-tacular makeover it’s time to start planning what to do outside. And we couldn’t help but browse through all the Halloween costumes they had at Party City to start getting ideas for our family costume theme. Choosing our decorating theme was much easier than getting my opinionated seven-year old to agree on costume ideas! So it will remain a mystery for now…..
Are you decorating for Halloween? Is your style more friendly ghost or frightening and ghoulish?
