Blog Post Notes: Bohemian party ideas, bohemian birthday party, bohemian bridal shower, bohemian baby shower, boho party ideas
I'm so excited to share some ideas and inspiration from a very popular party theme that I've worked with to style quite a few events this year. The bohemian theme is so pretty and feminine, and it works for a special birthday, beautiful bridal shower or to celebrate a sweet mommy-to-be. Just imagine how amazing your party would look with personalized balloons and all the decorations that you can add! Everyone will be impressed. I've styled all three and I'm going to show you how to recreate a dreamy boho party setting that will have your guests gushing over all the details.
Bohemian Party Ideas – Setting the Scene
If you have access to a lovely outside space you can create a gorgeous sitting area and tablescape for guests to lounge and nosh. You could go all out and get some custom inflatables to add to the mix, but I opted to spread a large burlap piece across the ground and used wooden crates covered with linens down the middle as a table. Pretty blooms in custom mason jars designed filled the center of the table. Cozy custom designed pillows made the space extra inviting and gave it a personal feel. I love creating custom pillows, they're pretty party decor and serve as a wonderful gift for the guest of honor. If you are feeling more adventurous, you could take your theme to find something like this escape room phoenix and solve a mystery in character.
Personal details make a party extra special, like these beautiful prints! I created a canvas print of the birthday girl and a metal print for the floral crown making station. The guests loved making their own floral crowns, it's a wonderful activity for any age. You can use floral wiring and fresh flowers or faux florals. A hot glue gun is helpful for adding jewels or small pieces. With parties for children creating crowns I use floral garlands and cut the pieces to size. Close the headpiece with a small bit of floral wire.
I love how these custom mason jars I created turned out. I used them as vases for the blooms and also as favors for each guest to take home. You could also fill them with ingredients to make a batch of cookies as a great gift idea.
I made these darling wine glasses for a bohemian bridal shower. We served wine in them and each guest got to take one home and keep as a party favor and souvenir of the bride's special day.
Custom wine glasses designed for a baby shower. All the momma's loved their “mommy juice” cups 🙂
These gorgeous floral crowns are from Peanut Princess Head. Aren't they just the sweetest thing!
Dreamy Bohemian Party Ideas – Sleepover Birthday
This bohemian sleepover party was so much fun! I used the same idea for creating a sitting space with wooden crates covered in linens, floral centerpieces and pretty pillows. With plenty of space to hang party decor I wanted to create a dreamy, ethereal lounge that could also transition into a pretty pajama party. I draped lots of sheer white fabric along the side walls and from the ceiling along with these cute ribbon garlands in peaches and pinks. Tissue poms and lanterns filled in corner spaces and made a beautiful backdrop for the party stations.
Metallic flash tattoos of silver and gold on one table for the girls to give themselves a little bohemian style body jewelry. Another table held charm bracelets and a selection of charms, tassels, stones and surprises so they could create a unique piece of jewelry.
We set out a popcorn bar and refreshments for the girls to enjoy while they watched a movie and made s'mores after. Almost all the popcorn was finished off by the end of the party! Since we had bought bags and bags of different flavors I was sure we'd have some leftover. So I was quite impressed, tween girls can really snack!
I especially loved this custom “Let Your Light Shine Bright” print for the popcorn bar. Another favorite, this chalkboard style heart print for the photo backdrop space.
I set out Fujifilm Instax cameras and film for a fun do-it-yourself photo booth and everyone had a blast snapping pics. This cork board made an awesome gift for the birthday girl, filled with fun photos and treasured memories of the party.
Another fun party activity, making dreamcatchers. Get some wooden sewing circles from your local craft store. Along with some yarn, ribbon and loose feathers. Set out baskets and let guests create their own magical dream catchers to take home.
