Hatchimals Glittering Garden is a lovable new toy that’s sure to top the birthday and Christmas wishlists of kids all over the world. I recently attended a fabulous Glittering Garden party and got the chance to see these cute little creatures and find out what the hype was all about. I received a Hatchimals Glittering Garden from Spin Master complimentary in exchange for my opinion and review, all thoughts are my own.
I’m sure you remember the Hatchimals, the hatching egg toy that sent parents into a tizzy last Christmas as they tried to hunt down the popular pet that every child wanted. Well, they are back and debuting a shimmering new shell with a sparkling surprise inside.
I was very excited to get to see and experience the Hatchimals while I was in NYC. It was actually the first time I’d seen this toy in person. Spin Master was hosting a launch party for this new collection and I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Walking into the party I was instantly sure this even was going to be a special treat.
There were flower poms and sparkles everywhere. On one side the kids were excitedly coaxing their Hatchimals from their shell, lovingly rubbing and tapping them to try and get them to break free. As I made my way around I noticed all the cute little party details. Hatchimals Colleggtibles were arranged as centerpiece decorations on each table. A coloring and craft table gave party goers a chance to make and take something fun. A Glittering Garden candy bar in the corner offered a sugary selection of sweet treats. Even the food was deliciously displayed to match the garden vibe.
And for an added surprise a furry green life-sized Hatchimal made a special appearance. Kids of all ages excitedly made their way over to meet him and have their picture taken. After the party was over everyone left with their Hatchimals favor bags and a whole lot of fun memories.
Back at home I thought it would be fun to have our own Glittering Garden party to watch our Hatchimals Glittering Garden hatch and see which one it would be. I decorated a cute table to t the Glittering Garden theme with lots of flowers and sparkles. Brady couldn’t wait to hatch his egg and find out if there was a Sparkling Pengula or a Shimmering Draggle inside.
Hatching your glitter speckled egg requires patience and some TLC, tapping the shell and rubbing it till it’s ready to crack. After a little while and a lot of stroking and tapping our egg began to break open. Brady’s eyes grew the minute he spied the furry purple creature peeking out. We peeled small bits of shell away and stood smiling and staring at the sweetest purple furball as he made noises and movements, pecking and spinning.
Once they have hatched, Hatchimals need to be nurtured as they progress through three play modes. In baby mode your Hatchimal will communicate by changing his eye color to let you know how he feels. Red eyes mean he’s upset. In toddler mode your Hatchimal can walk, talk and dance and later on in kid mode he can play games.
