Our vacation at the Cove Atlantis Bahamas was the perfect getaway for our family, especially with our little one. The resort offered the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement, making it the perfect destination for parents traveling with kids. From the stunning beaches to the abundance of kid-friendly activities, we were never short on things to do.
But what really made the trip special was the level of service we received. The staff at the Cove went above and beyond to ensure we had the most comfortable and enjoyable stay possible. It’s safe to say that we were thoroughly impressed and would definitely recommend this resort to other parents looking for a relaxing and fun vacation with their kids.
The Cove
One of the things I love about the Cove Atlantis is that it’s so accessible from the East Coast. With a short flight, we were able to arrive at the resort in no time and make the most of our family vacation. I don’t have to worry about losing any of my valuable vacation time traveling and instead, I can spend my days soaking up the sun and exploring the resort. Being able to leave in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon is a huge perk.

Additionally, the convenience of being so close to the East Coast means that we were able to save on travel costs, which allowed us to spend more on the things that really matter – like spending quality time with our family and indulging in some much-needed relaxation. The close proximity of the Cove Atlantis also made it easy for us to extend our trip or plan quick getaways in the future.
The Cove Atlantis is a beautiful, luxury hotel that offers all the excitement and entertainment of the larger Atlantis resort, but within a more quiet and secluded place to stay and relax. From the moment we arrived, we were taken aback by the stunning architecture and lush tropical surroundings. The resort is designed to provide guests with an intimate and upscale experience, and that’s exactly what we got.
Whether we wanted to relax by the pool, spend time on the beach, or enjoy a delicious meal, we had it all at our fingertips. And, if we felt like venturing out, the excitement of the larger Atlantis resort was just a short walk away. This made it easy for us to enjoy the best of both worlds – a secluded and relaxing vacation combined with the excitement and entertainment of a larger resort. The Cove was the perfect balance of luxury and adventure, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay there.
The Cove Hotel Rooms
Our room at the Cove Atlantis, the Lapis Club Ocean Suite, was truly a luxurious escape from the world. Located on floors 20-22, the suite offered us exclusive access to the Lapis Club and all its amenities, including a dedicated concierge, gourmet breakfast, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, and signature evening cocktails. The open floor plan and step-down living area were perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a day spent exploring the resort. The balcony overlooking the crystal blue ocean was a highlight of the room, providing us with breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding tropical paradise.
Our suite was well equipped with all the amenities we needed to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. From in-room dining and premium Wi-Fi to a mini fridge, robes & slippers, and a flat-screen HDTV, we had everything we needed at our fingertips. We appreciated the Bluetooth speakers & charging station, Keurig® K-Cup coffee maker, individually controlled A/C, and bath amenities.
Our room was plenty spacious enough for the three of us. We requested a crib before our arrival and it was already set-up and ready when we got to our room. And our corner room with full surrounding windows gave the most beautiful ocean views!
The Cove Pool at Atlantis
One of our favorite things about the Cove Atlantis is being able to access the quieter pools at the Reef, just a short walk from the rooms. The Reef offers a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere, it’s perfect for families with children. We loved having a more serene pool experience, and it was great to be able to switch things up from the lively, sometimes crowded atmosphere of the main pool.
Atlantis Bahamas Cove Cabanas
Having our own private cabana for the day was a highlight of our vacation. Our cabana came with its own TV and private bathroom, which was a huge convenience. The cabana had a walk-out to the beach from one side and to the pool on the other, making it easy to enjoy both the water and the sand. We loved ordering lunch and drinks from our cabana. It was great to be able to take a break from the sun and rest inside the cabana when our baby needed to nap.
Our cabana also had a refrigerator, which was a lifesaver for keeping our baby’s milk cold. And, the private bathroom made it so easy to rinse off from playing in the sand. Overall, the private cabanas are a big splurge, but worth it if you want to enjoy a day at the beach and still have all the conveniences to make it relaxing and enjoyable with a little one.
The Cove Restaurants
But what is a vacation really, if you don’t have a few truly great meals? All of the food we ate on our trip was amazing, but a few of our experiences were exceptional.
We loved the convenience and comfort of the Mosaic breakfast buffet at the Cove. They offer a big selection of delicious breakfast foods, and we loved trying something new every day. From fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes and eggs, there’s something for everyone. We especially appreciated the fact that the buffet was open early, which is nice when you have a little one who is an early riser.
For lunch, we usually ordered from the pool menu or had room service before our baby’s nap. The pool side fare was delicious, and I especially loved the tuna poke. The pool menu offers a great selection of light and refreshing options: salads, wraps, burgers and simple bites that are well-prepared and full of flavor.
We also made reservations for an early dinner at the fine-dining restaurant on our resort, Fish by José Andrés. The seafood platter was a delicious selection of ceviches, steamed mussels, fresh oysters, shrimp cocktail, and a half lobster tail. The mini lobster rolls were an amazing appetizer,choice, so delicious! And Caribbean mahi mahi grilled over wood fire with black garlic mojo, pineapple, chayote, jicama, and diced apple was a standout dish. Our dining experience at Fish was a great way to end our vacation. We loved the atmosphere, service, and delicious food.
Tips for Visiting the Bahamas with a Baby:
- Plan ahead: Research and make necessary preparations such as getting a passport for your baby and checking if they need any special vaccinations before traveling.
