Diaper Bag details… What's inside my diaper bag? Sharing a look at what I carry day to day and why I'm in love with this new bag…..
Six years ago when I was pregnant with my first child the diaper bag selection wasn't anywhere near as stylish as it is today. I remember picking out a bag for our registry and not loving the experience. The thought of lugging a bulky bag with it's bright colors and basic pattern around for a couple of years didn't make me giddy. It was more a matter of function than fashion.
Flash forward to today and the diaper bag game has gotten a major upgrade! When I pulled this new Petunia Pickle Bottom Meta Backpack diaper bag out of the box I actually got excited. It's functional and fashionable! I would carry this around if I didn't have a child and plan to long after our diaper days are over.
Let's talk details. What makes this bag stand out? First of all I love the style. Having tried all the different diaper bag styles I'm a big fan of the backpack over all the others. It's the easiest to carry and works whether you're sporting a baby in a carseat on your arm or lugging a little person around on your hip. You don't have to worry about straps cutting into places or getting caught up in the way when you move around. And you'll appreciate the support once you're a mom and the baby carrying back aches settle in.
Also, the Petunia Pickle Bottom Meta Backpack has tons of useful pockets for easy access to all your baby needs. There's an insulated bottle pocket, an anti-microbial pocket for snacks and even a padded tech pocket to keep your laptop or tablet safe.
The changing pad and wipes case come in handy for quick diaper changes. And I really like that this bag is easy to clean. You'll carry your diaper bag EVERYWHERE so it's nice to have one that won't show the wear and tear of travel.
I really like the matte black material color and the leather details. This is definitely a bag that I will use for years. It's a goes with anything and everything style that fits any outfit or occasion.
Ok, so now let's get to what's inside my diaper bag. Here's my list of everyday essentials you'll always find me carrying.
- bottle (a back-up in case the one we are using goes MIA)
- pacifier (again, a back-up in case ours gets lost along the way)
- hand sanitizer
- a lovey toy
- a muslin blanket
- travel size sunscreen (and bug spray in the summer)
- small first aid kit (bandaids, Neosporin, bandage tape)
- snacks (usually a bag of Cheerios or Pirates Booty and an applesauce pouch)
- ziploc bags (handy for unfinished snacks or diaper disposal)
- extra outfit
A back-up bottle and a back-up pacifier are essential! We've left the house with both before and after an afternoon of shopping realized our son has tossed his bottle or his paci out somewhere along the way. It's usually right at naptime when he needs it most and we're stuck backtracking trying to find where it could be. Now we never leave the house without an extra.
That's a peek inside my bag. Mamas, tell me what's inside your diaper bag? What baby essentials do you have to have everyday?
