I’ve been searching for great costume ideas for us to dress up as a family this year. Last night we went to Boo at the Zoo, a fun Halloween event they hold at the National Zoo in Washington DC every year. Kids come out in their halloween costumes and trick or treat around the animal exhibits. The zoo is all decorated for Halloween with spooky scenes and lots of creepy cool stations, it’s really awesome. We went last year as the Wizard of Oz and had a blast.

Family Costume Ideas
This year we dressed up in Curious George costumes. Brady was the cutest little monkey! Somehow I talked my husband into wearing the Man in the Yellow Hat get-up, he wasn’t too excited about the idea when I announced my plan. As soon as we showed up all the kids were so excited to see the Man in the Yellow Hat, pointing at him and coming over to say hi. By the end of the night he was really into it and loved playing it up for all his little fans.
Hey look, there’s a banana! Yep that’s me. I’m the banana.
Costumes for Families
Our family costume was a big hit and my husband even said on the way home that he wouldn’t mind if we wore it again this week for another Halloween party. Little does he know I have a whole other scheme coming in the mail 🙂 Check back soon, I’ll be sharing that one too!
Happy Halloween everyone! Â I’d love to see your fun Halloween costumes. Share your pics on our Facebook or Instagram pages.
