Banana pudding is one of my all-time favorite desserts! It’s kind of a year-round treat, just as good on a summer day as it is finishing off a comfort meal on a cold winter night. It’s easy to make and something you can whip up for to bring for a party crowd or simply enjoy all by yourself.
So what makes a really good banana pudding? After trying a whole bunch of recipes out we’ve narrowed it down to these….

Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding Recipe
Straight from their popular cookbook, this recipe is a well-loved favorite from the famous Greenwich Village restaurant.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups ice cold water
- 1 (3.4 oz.) box vanilla instant pudding mix
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 4 cups sliced barely ripe bananas, (see note)
- 1 (12 oz.) box Nilla Wafers
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large bowl, combine the condensed milk and water, beat until well combined. Add the pudding mix and continue beating for 2 minutes. Cover and refrigerate for 3-4 hours or allow to chill overnight. (*note- very important step for allowing mixture to settle!)
- In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Then carefully fold whipped cream in pudding mixture until no streaks of pudding remain.
- Assemble dessert for individual portions or in a large serving dish.
- Layer Nilla wafers across bottom of dish. Add 1/3 of bananas over wafers. Pour 1/3 of pudding mixture over bananas. Repeat two more times and finish with wafer crumbs over top layer.
- Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours.
Another down-home delicious banana pudding recipe we’ve tried and loved is Paula Deens recipe. This no bake dessert not only tastes divine, it looks so pretty you’ll want to show it off before you dish it out.
