Tasty Shawarma Bowl Recipe

This chicken shawarma bowl recipe is perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner, a fun meal prep option, or even for serving to friends at a casual gathering. Plus, it’s super easy to make and customize to your own taste. Get ready to be transported to a world of flavor with this amazing chicken shawarma bowl recipe!

Easy Chicken Shawarma Dinner Bowls Recipe:


  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cooked rice, quinoa, or couscous
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup diced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

For the Garlic Tahini Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste


  1. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, paprika, cumin, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken thighs and toss well to coat. Let the chicken marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken thighs for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are fully cooked through and have an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
  3. While the chicken is resting, prepare the Garlic Tahini Sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, water, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt until smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
  4. Assemble the Chicken Shawarma Bowls by dividing the cooked rice, quinoa, or couscous between four bowls. Top each bowl with chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, and sliced grilled chicken. Drizzle the Garlic Tahini Sauce over the top, and garnish with fresh parsley.
