Independence Day is just a couple of weeks away and I’ve got some fun ideas for how you can celebrate the Fourth of July in style. From easy all American home decor to patriotic party flair I’ll be sharing a few of my favorite projects you can DIY.
Let’s start with giving your home a touch of the red, white and blue without getting into the tacky area. Yes, you can add a little Americana style to your home easily and inexpensively just by adding a few pieces. Check out how I styled our dining room…
Independence Day Ideas for Home Decor
This look took five minutes to pull together and makes the room feel festive without being splashy. Best part is it only cost $15! Yes, fifteen dollars. I got the two throw pillows and the scarf from the Target Dollar Spot, my favorite place to shop for holiday decorations and inexpensive party supplies.
Independence Day Entertaining
Now for a few entertaining details to make your Fourth of July celebration pop off. Whip up a party punch thats red or blue and serve in style. Add alcohol for the adult crowd. I’m serving up an AMAZING strawberry lemonade in my glass beverage dispenser and setting out a tray for the kids, served in glass milk bottles with cute paper straws.
Strawberry Lemonade Recipe
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
- Heat sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat to create simple syrup. Stir until completely dissolved and remove from heat.
- In a blender combine strawberries, lemon juice and simple syrup. Puree until smooth. Add water till you get the consistency desired.
- Sugar rim of glass, pour and serve over ice.
This fun red, white and blue wooden tray is from Target, and so are the milk bottles and straws. I found the tray for $5, bottles were $3 for two and the straws were $1.
These wooden stars were too perfect to pass up so I grabbed them to add a little patriotic pop to the table. And just like that we’ve created a stylish and simple Independence Day feel that will impress your guests.
Check back soon, I’ll be sharing a fun way to set-up a S’mores station and show you some great fourth of July desserts to serve. Plus I’ll post pics of a few Fourth of July dessert tables I’ve created that we’re total showstoppers!
