Zootopia movie review disclosure: IÂ received the Zootopia movie and toys to facilitate this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We’ve been celebrating our countdown to the big Disney World trip in October with weekly movie nights to introduce Brady to all the Disney favorites. Zootopia just came out on Blu-ray and DVD and since he had already caught a few commercials for it on TV and wanted to see it we decided to watch it together.
Zootopia is about a rabbit police lieutenant who teams up with a con artist fox to solve a big case. As we follow Officer Judy Hopps and the sly Nick Wilde we get to witness a whole world of animals working and living together in a modern metropolis.
The characters are hilarious, funny for kids of all ages and enjoyable for parents as well. What I appreciate most about this movie is the underlying message of acceptance and community it teaches, showing animals of all different types living together peacefully. It challenges us to consider the stereotypes and prejudices we unfairly place on others and how we can work together to make a change.
We loved Zootopia and I would definitely add it to the list of must-own Disney movies. It’s a family friendly watch everyone will enjoy.
B hasn’t stopped talking about his favorite parts and the characters he liked most (the sloths!) He’s also completely obsessed with the Zootopia toys we got to try out. The police cruiser comes with Judy, the rabbit and the Law Breaking Mouse. The top pops off and theres a pull-out jail cell to keep the bad guys in. Plus the cruiser lights flash.
Judy, the talking plush toy has become a new member of our sleeping squad. She’s sharing a pillow with Brady’s current favorite stuffed animals and they all have some pretty fascinating conversations at bedtime. I love the imagination that toddlers possess, it’s truly amazing what they come up with.
Grab the Zootopia combo pack and watch it with your kids. Share your favorite characters and funniest parts on our Facebook page, I’d love to hear what your kids loved most about the movie.
Oh and the Zootopia toys are made by TOMY and you can find them online at Amazon or at most chain stores and toy stores.
Four more months till our first Disney World trip!
