Kings Dominion theme park is full of fun things to do for kids of all ages. And now with three new rides Planet Snoopy is especially packed with excitement for the younger crowd! We were invited to opening day to experience all that Kings Dominion has to offer preschoolers. All thoughts and opinions shared are mine alone.

Last weekend we got to spend the day at one of Brady’s favorite places. I wish you could have seen his face when I told him we were heading to Kings Dominion Saturday morning to check out the new rides at Planet Snoopy. We visited the theme park a few times last year and he fell completely in love with the place. Since he’s three now and a little taller he meets the height requirement for more rides, so we got to experience a few first-time moments and make new memories.

Kings Dominion amusement park is in Doswell VA so it’s a short drive from Washington DC and Northern VA. It’s the perfect place to spend the day with your whole family. From thrilling roller coaster rides to the huge waterpark, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

And this year Kings Dominion expanded its 14-acre kids’ area, Planet Snoopy, with three new family thrill rides: Kite Eating Tree, Sally’s Sea Plane and Peanuts 500. With 20 rides Planet Snoopy is the largest children’s area in the market and has the most rides for the whole family to experience together.

On the way in we spotted Snoopy and Lucy and headed over for a big hug. He was grinning ear to ear and I think my heart just about burst. It’s the sweetest thing, seeing your little one full of wonder when they meet their favorite characters. Pure joy!

First stop, Sally’s Sea Plane for some high flying adventure. We boarded the big yellow airbus and waved to the crowd below as we ascended. Up, up and away! He gave the new ride a thumb’s up and immediately asked if we could ride it again.

The Great Pumpkin Coaster is one of our favorite rides. It takes you up and down as your ride around the circle and it’s just exciting enough to give little ones a fun ride without being too scary. Brady loves to throw his hands up as the coaster speeds down the small hills.

The Flying Ace Balloon Race is another one we loved from last year. Soar up and down and get a bird’s eye view of Planet Snoopy as your basket whirls around. Snoopy’s Junction, Snoopy’s Space Buggies and Peanuts Road Rally are all great rides to try first with younger children. Kings Dominion Planet Snoopy Full of Fun Things to Do With Preschool Kids -- Northern Virginia Theme Park VA

After we had filled our need to for speed on the new Peanuts 500 and made a few laps around Joe Cool’s Driving School we headed over to the Peanut’s Playhouse to catch a show. Kids can sing and dance with the Peanut’s characters and even join them up on-stage.

Time for lunch at the new Peanuts event space where we enjoyed some yummy snacks and a cupcake or two. With plenty of covered space as well as sunny spots this place is perfect for hosting a party.

Another awesome thing I love about Kings Dominion is how they really go above and beyond when it comes to making the park family friendly for all ages. Peek inside the Family Care Center and you’ll see what I mean. This cottage-like retreat is an 1100 square foot facility where parents can change a diaper, microwave a bottle or even let your little one nap. Private rooms with rocking chairs offer moms a quiet, relaxing place to cool off and nurse in the summer. Kings Dominion Planet Snoopy Full of Fun Things to Do With Preschool Kids -- Northern Virginia Theme Park VA

We had so much fun exploring the all-new Planet Snoopy we didn’t even make to our other favorite Kings Dominion attractions. The Dinosaurs Alive area is an awesome walk thru adventure featuring 50 life-size animated dinosaurs. There’s also a cool dinosaur dig where kids can play around in the sand uncovering giant dinosaur bones. Kings Dominion Planet Snoopy Full of Fun Things to Do With Preschool Kids -- Northern Virginia Theme Park VA
