The holiday season is in full swing and it’s getting ugly! As in ugly sweater parties. Tis the season for donning your best, worst holiday attire and celebrating the spirit of giving. And just in case you’re feeling a little clueless about how to host your own ugly sweater bash, no worries. I’m sharing fun ideas how to mix, mingle, and make this holiday the merriest yet!
First things first, let’s talk about party decor. The awesome thing about throwing an ugly sweater party is that it’s hard to go wrong when it comes to decorations because, well, the tackier the better. Pull out those tinsel trees, nutcrackers, gold and silver everything. I like to keep it bright and fun, pops of pink mixed in with metallics. Ornaments in bowls or glassware fill table space and make great centerpieces (or string them on fishing wire and hang them up).
The Season of Giving
An ugly sweater party is also a fun theme for gift exchanges! I love giving gifts and getting together with my favorite people to celebrate the holiday season. Nothing feels better than knowing that you’ve brightened someone’s day and made them feel special.
I also love that I can shop at Walmart and join in the spirit of giving, and so can you! Through the end of the year when you buy specially-marked packages of 7UP, Canada Dry, and Squirt at Walmart, 10 cents will be donated to The Salvation Army for each package sold!
On my shopping list: party food, holiday decorations and Canada Dry for making mocktails and cocktails.

Mocktail RecipeÂ
Frosty Fizz
-1 gallon pineapple sherbert
-2 Liter Canada Dry
Add a scoop of pineapple sherbert to a glass. Slowly pour Canada Dry over sherbert to fill.
After everyone has said their hellos and grabbed something to sip on, I like to keep the party going with a little photo fun. I set-up a crafty station where guests could string up seasons greetings and play around with photo props. I also set out some fun embellishments in case anyone wanted to add something extra festive to their holiday outfit. A glue gun, glitter, sequins and some fuzzy pom-pom balls are all you need for a DIY ugly sweater station.
Cheers! Wishing you the happiest of holidays. Don’t forget to join in the spirit of giving! Look for specially marked packages at Walmart to donate to help the Salvation Army this season.
