Oprah Magazine October Issue- My Mermaid Makeup Shoot with Pond's

I’ve been dying to tell you all about this for so long, and now that it’s finally hit the newsstands everywhere I can share it! I’m in the October issue of Oprah Magazine. Ya’ll, I can hardly believe it! I can honestly say that right now I am truly living my best life. This is more than a dream come true and I could not be more grateful or feel more blessed than I do at this moment.

So now that I’ve shared my big news I feel like I should take you all down the rabbit hole with me and tell you how this whole thing came about. If you’re following my Instagram stories you’ve seen a few snapshots and clips from the photoshoot and probably wandered what it was all about. A little while back I received and invitation from the Oprah magazine team to shoot a Halloween makeover campaign for the Ponds Beauty campaign. I excitedly accepted and before you know it I was on a plane headed for NYC to all glammed up again for a magazine shoot.

I loved the hair and makeup team I worked with for this shoot. My hair stylist, Fred, was hilarious! He kept me laughing the whole time while working his magic on my mane. He teased my hair into the most gorgeous side sweep, then turned it into a pretty updo and finally a fantasy mermaid mess that you have to see to believe. And you’ve got to see how well Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser takes it all off!

And here’s the beginning of what my mermaid makeup looked like. The technique the makeup artist used to achieve the shimmery scales look was so wild.

All the makeup! All the sequins! And all the hair. Pinks, greens, purples and blues galore. I had about a ton of hair extensions clipped in and hair that I swear stood a foot off of my head. It looked so cool!
