NFL fan style has officially crossed over from the bleachers to the runway and I am so excited to tell you that I am personally part of the movement making it happen. Game day fashion is no longer just about grabbing your team’s jersey from the closet and calling it an outfit — it has become a full creative expression, a community and an industry that the NFL itself is now actively investing in. And being chosen as one of the first influencers for the NFLFANSTYLE program launch in partnership with NFLfanshop.com is honestly one of the most exciting things that has happened to me and to this blog.

Let me tell you everything about what this movement is, who is leading it and what it means for every woman who has ever wanted to show up to a game looking genuinely great.

What the NFLFANSTYLE Movement Is and Why It Matters

The NFL has always had fashion in its orbit — team colors, jerseys, branded gear — but for a long time that fashion conversation stopped at the merchandise table. What is happening now is something different and much more interesting. Designers, influencers and passionate fans are taking team loyalty and fusing it with real fashion sensibility. Custom streetwear. Vintage aesthetics. High-fashion silhouettes in team colorways. Tailored pieces that happen to be in your team’s colors. The kind of outfits that make people ask “where did you get that” instead of “who are you rooting for.”

The NFL recognized this shift and responded by launching NFLFANSTYLE — a program that officially brings creators into the conversation, partners with NFLfanshop.com to connect fans with style resources and builds a community around game day fashion that reflects the real diversity and creativity of the fanbase. It is a genuine acknowledgment that the people in the stands are not just spectators — they are part of the show.

I was chosen as one of the first influencers for this launch and my role is exactly what I love doing most: creating content that brings fans of all ages together and shows how game day style can be fun, accessible and genuinely fashionable for every kind of fan.

The Influencers and Designers Reshaping NFL Fashion

Kristin Juszczyk

If you have been anywhere near the internet this football season you already know Kristin Juszczyk. Her custom patchwork and upcycled NFL gear designs went so viral that they earned her an official NFL licensing deal — a historic moment that marked the first time the league extended a licensing agreement to an independent fan designer. Her pieces blend quilted and patchwork techniques with genuine fashion construction sensibility and the results look like something from a high-end runway that also happens to be covered in your team’s colors. She is proof that fan fashion is not a niche interest — it is a legitimate creative category.

Taylor Swift

Whether or not you consider yourself a Taylor Swift fan, her presence at Kansas City Chiefs games changed the conversation around what it looks like to be a woman at an NFL game. Her outfits — custom pieces, team-colored coordinated looks, playful nods to game day dressing that were unmistakably styled and intentional — sent search traffic for Chiefs gear through the roof and proved that the intersection of fashion and football fandom is genuinely cultural. She brought millions of new eyes to the idea that showing up to a game in something beautiful and thoughtful is completely legitimate.

Alix Earle

Alix Earle brought the game day look to a younger generation with her characteristic authentic, spontaneous energy. Her get-ready-with-me NFL content and her cheerfully fashionable approach to showing up at games in outfits that feel current and real rather than costume-like has resonated with a massive audience. She represents the fan who loves football and loves fashion equally and does not see any reason to choose between them.

The Broader Designer Community

Beyond these individual names, an entire ecosystem of independent designers and creators on platforms like Etsy, Instagram and TikTok are producing custom team gear, vintage-inspired sweatshirts, team-colored coordinated sets and elevated accessories that the official merchandise market never quite covered. The NFLFANSTYLE program exists specifically to recognize and elevate this creative community — connecting creators with the official platform and resources to reach the massive audience of NFL fans who are hungry for this kind of content.

Why I Was Made for This Program

I have been dressing for game days my entire life and I have always believed that loving your team and looking put-together are not mutually exclusive. The whole philosophy of this blog — that you can be the most organized, most stylish, most present version of yourself while also being fully, completely a mom and a fan and a real human being — translates perfectly to what NFLFANSTYLE is building.

My role in this program is to create content that shows fans of all ages how to build game day looks that feel like them. Not just young women, not just fashion insiders — every kind of fan. The grandmother going to her first game with her grandkids. The mom who wants to look great in the family tailgate photos. The college student figuring out her first game day wardrobe. The woman who has been wearing her husband’s jersey for years and is finally ready to have something that is actually hers.

That is the community I am here to serve and the content I am most excited to create.

What Game Day Fashion Looks Like Right Now

The trends driving NFL fan style in this moment are genuinely exciting.

Custom and personalized pieces are the most coveted items in the fan fashion space right now. A custom name and number on a piece that is actually well-constructed and fashion-forward — not just a standard jersey — is what fans are seeking out and paying for.

Vintage aesthetics — faded team colors, classic logos, retro silhouettes — are everywhere and they work because they feel authentic rather than promotional. A vintage-style team sweatshirt or a retro logo tee reads as fashion rather than merchandise.

Elevated basics in team colors — a tailored blazer in your team’s colors, coordinated sets, team-colored accessories layered over neutral outfits — are how fashion-forward fans are expressing loyalty without wearing literal team gear.

Statement accessoriesteam-colored hats, logo jewelry and fan-style bags — complete a game day look that might otherwise be a regular outfit. One strong team-colored accessory with an otherwise neutral look is one of the most wearable and versatile approaches to game day style.

Building a Game Day Wardrobe That Works

The foundation of great game day style is having a few versatile pieces you can style differently depending on the occasion — home game, away game, watch party, tailgate, sports bar with friends.

A women’s fitted team tee in a modern cut is the most versatile starting point — wear it tucked into jeans, knotted at the waist over leggings or layered under a jacket. A team-colored crewneck sweatshirt in a fitted or oversized cut depending on your preference is the piece you will wear to every cold-weather game for years. A team jersey in a fashion-forward cut — cropped, fitted or designed for layering — takes the most classic game day piece and makes it feel current.

Layer these pieces with pieces you already own and love: your favorite denim, your go-to sneakers or boots, the accessories that make you feel like you. The magic of game day style done well is that it does not feel like a costume — it feels like you, just in your team’s colors.

What Is Coming Next

My partnership with NFLfanshop.com means I will be creating regular content throughout the season — styling guides, outfit ideas for different game day scenarios and roundups of the best fan fashion finds across every team. The goal is to build a resource that makes game day dressing genuinely fun and genuinely accessible for fans of all ages and all style backgrounds.

If you are an NFL fan who has ever stood in front of your closet on game day and wished you had something better to wear — this content is for you. Follow along here at frostedevents.com and stay tuned for everything coming this season.

Football Party Ideas

What better way to celebrate kicking off the season than by hosting a fantasy football draft party for a few of my favorite gals. I sent out the invites and started pulling together ideas.

Fantasy Football Draft Party

Our Sunday Funday party started with coffee and brunch. Because Sundays are for football, coffee and brunch, right? I showed you guys the cute coffee bar I set-up for the party a few posts back. If you haven’t seen it, check it out.

I made chicken and waffle bites, and these cute chocolate dipped strawberry footballs. They were both a big hit gave us a chance to nosh and mingle before we started making our draft selections.

NFL Fanstyle Football Fashion and Fun via Misty Nelson Influencer and Lifestyle Blogger frostedblog @frostedevents Patriots fashion and Carolina Panthers Fashion

After a little friendly competition with our fantasy football draft picks and after everyone had their sugar and caffeine fix we headed out to the backyard for some football fun. Half of my crew are die-hard Carolina Panthers fans while the other half are Patriots fans (or just Tom Brady fans so that went with the Pats, lol!)

Being born and raised in NC and moving back here to call the Carolinas home, I’m a Panthers fan too. But my husband turned me into a Patriots fan ten years ago when we met in a little Boston dive bar. I grew to love the Boston teams through years of slinging drinks and sharing shots with Patriots and Red Sox fans. We did a lot of laughing and crying, and drinking together in that bar. It’s a whole other kind of love and I called the people who made that place special my family.
