Kings Dominion is one of our favorite places to visit during the summer! We can spend the whole day riding rides, catching shows and enjoying all the fun and entertainment this giant theme park has to offer. Plus it’s just a short drive from the DC area. With tons of rides, a water park and a whole list of other attractions, it’s a fun place your whole family will enjoy.
Planet Snoopy has lots of rides that are just the right size for my preschooler and he loves getting to hang out with the Peanut’s gang. His eyes light up the minute we walk through the gates and he catches a glimpse of Planet Snoopy. Getting to meet the characters in person is a real treat all the kids love! Who doesn’t want to high five Charlie Brown, right?
Kings Dominion recently expanded its 14-acre kids’ area, Planet Snoopy, with three new family thrill rides: Kite Eating Tree, Sally’s Sea Plane and Peanuts 500! Planet Snoopy is the largest children’s area in the market and has the most rides for the whole family to experience together.
The Great Pumpkin Coaster is currently our favorite. It’s a roller coaster ride that’s not too scary, speeding up and down small hills and around the loop. B loves to throw his hands up in the air and let out a yell as the cart makes each turn.
Sally’s Sea Plane is one of our new favorites. The big yellow airbus flys round and round, giving little riders a rush as it rises and falls. After we’ve taken a few spins on Sally’s we make our way over to the Snoopy’s Junction and then on to Woodstock’s whirling teacups.
Planet Snoopy has rides of all kinds, so you’ll find something your little will love whether they are adventurous or like a little slower pace. There are cars that cruise around the track, buggies that bump, boats that spin and lots of up and down adventures.
Catch the Peanuts gang performing one of their fun daily shows at the Peanuts Playhouse.
