It’s National Reading Month! We love reading, it’s an big part of our everyday routine. Brady will be starting kindergarten in the fall and we’ve been working on learning all his letters and sounds. In the morning we practice on our way to preschool and at night we read bedtime stories. I’ve always been a big reader and I really want my kids to have the same love for books that I grew up with.

Amazon FreeTime

A couple of months ago I shared how we’ve been using our Amazon voice devices to help with everything from our morning routine to entertaining family activities. The Echo Dot Kids Edition reminds Brady to brush his teeth and sets a timer, tells him silly jokes and gets us ready for bed with a story each night. And we love using our Echo Show to give us news updates, check the weather, look up recipes and even take selfies!

FreeTime on Alexa offers lots of fun and educational experiences with access to audio-books, educational skills and multi-player games. We love listening to bedtime stories at night and learning interesting facts.

One of the things I love most about FreeTime on Alexa is that we can learn and share in the fun together. And I have full control of what my child has access to thanks to the Parent Dashboard.

We never have to worry about running out of books to read either. With access to over 1,000 Audible books through FreeTime on Alexa there’s always something new to explore and learn about. Plenty of adventures for my curious little learner to embark upon, so I don’t have to scramble to find things to keep up with his interests as he grows.

Brady loves asking Alexa questions. Right now he’s into learning about animals. While I’m making dinner he’ll quiz Alexa on all sorts of animal facts. “Alexa, whats the tallest animal in the world?”
“Alexa, where do polar bears live?”
“Alexa, what’s the fastest animal in the whole world?”
“Alexa, what do rhinos eat?”

Isn’t it amazing that our kids have access to all this information with just a simple voice command? I love how it inspires their curiosity and imagination with each question. Oh how I would have loved to have a world of information, exciting stories and interesting facts at my disposal as a child. I love that our Alexa devices give us access to learning about anything, anytime. There’s truly no limit to what you can learn and explore!
