Gaylord National Harbor Holiday Experience — ICE! 2017 featuring Rudolph and Friends. We recently visited the Gaylord to experience this exciting Christmas event. Check out all the fun….
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! Â I can not contain my excitement for this year’s ICE! exhibit at the Gaylord National Resort! Â Hands down Rudolph is my favorite holiday animated special and ICE! does not disappoint. Â Before you enter Christmas Forest nestled at the North Pole, be prepared….it is cold.. Very, very, cold! 9 degrees cold!
ICE! 2017 Event
ICE! will provide you with a hooded parka to wear over your own coat, hat, scarf, and mittens. Â All these layers are necessary and aid in creating a unique North Pole experience. Â Once fashionably clad in your blue parka, your ICE! adventure begins! Â
Stroll through this winter wonderland carved from more than 2 million pounds of ice. Â Colorful exhibits feature favorite scenes from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Â The ICE! story begins with a scene depicting Rudolph as a fawn and his surprising red glowing nose. As you walk through the ice-scapes the story unfolds featuring all your favorite characters: Rudolph, Clarice, Hermey, Yukon Cornelius, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, the Misfit Toys, and Santa.
A fun Christmas event for Washington D.C. kids, and parents too!
Kids (and adults!) will squeal with delight as they slip and slide down the ice slide! Â Seriously, adults should join their little ones for this icy thrill!
After numerous rides down the ice slide, journey through an icicle tunnel and finish your North Pole journey with Rudolph. Â Snap a group picture in front of the final Rudolph scene depicting Rudolph triumphantly leading Santa’s sled.
Once exiting ICE!, continue enjoying reindeer games as you enter Christmas Village. Â Greet a gingerbread man and decorate a gingerbread house at Gingerbread Corner. Practice your twirls and graceful falls on the indoor Glacier Glide ice-skating rink. Enjoy waving to bystanders from the Potomac Express Train and take a turn on the Christmas Carousel. Create a new friend at the Build-a-Bear workshop. Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate. Stroll through the Christmas Shoppe for Rudolph themed merchandise and other holiday items. Search for hidden Build-A-Bears through an interactive scavenger hunt. Last but not least, stop in for a visit with Santa! So much holiday fun!
