Fun kids snacks that are perfect for a day at the beach, a cool summer party or simply a sweet treat. This post is sponsored by our friends at Wholesome.
We’ve just returned from our little get-away trip to the beach and I’m missing it already! The ocean is my spirit animal and nothing makes me happier than spending a day splashing in the waves, building sandcastles and soaking up some sunshine with my sweet boy. Luckily, much of our summer is spent on the beaches of Maine or southward bound to visit my grandmother in South Carolina. So many of my happiest childhood memories are of our family trips down there. There are loads of places that you can go on holiday though, you’ve just got to find the one that you think you’ll enjoy the most. If you are unsure about where to go then you can always book a luxury house rental somewhere and I’m sure you’ll still have a great time. If you are stuck on ideas of where to go, then why not try some places in Europe, go to France, Spain or Ireland. You might find that you love going to places like Dublin for example. If this is the case, or you are just simply interested in exploring more of Dublin (and the rest of the world), then you should check out this Dublin Airlink bus to see how easy it is to travel whilst you are there.
Summer is all about weekend road trips, beach vacations and finding ways to cool off and have fun. So I thought I’d share a few ideas on how you can celebrate summer and make your own sweet memories! DelishFish are delicious organic candies made with real, recognizable ingredients.
Let’s start with what to pack for a fun day at the beach. Here is a peek at what’s in our beach bag:
- beach towels
- sand play toys
- beach umbrella (check out this list of the best beach umbrellas)
- wet bag
- baby powder (great for knocking sand off little ones without irritating skin)
- sun hats and sunglasses
- DelishFish candies
DelishFish are delicious organic candies made with real, recognizable ingredients. We love them! They taste yummy and they are a treat I can feel good about sharing with my favorite people. They are also Fair Trade, non-GMO, gluten free, vegan and kosher. Oh, and did I mention that they are super delicious!
Organic DelishFish are the first candies introduced by Wholesome, the leader in Fair Trade and organic sugars and honeys. Wholesome has been making organic, better-for-you products since 2001. Making “mindfully delicious” products is a part of their promise. A sweetness that’s organically, sustainably grown with nothing artificial and no harmful additives. Now that’s something we can smile about!
Kids Drink Recipe
Of course, my little sweet tooth is happy to dig into candy straight from the bag. But I also like to mix it up and makes some extra special treats I know he’ll love. This kid’s drink is perfect for slurpin’ on a hot summer day! And it’s super easy to make
- 1 bag of Organic DelishFish candies
- 1 gallon of store bought blue fruit punch
- 1 gallon of cranberry juice
- 1 pint of sherbert ice cream
- lemon-lime soda (or ginger ale)
Fill one-third of the glass up with cranberry juice. Slowly add a layer pour of one-third blue punch. Add a scoop of sherbert and top with a splash of lemon-lime soda.
Fun Kids Snack Ideas — Popsicles!
Popsicles are another yummy summer treat that you can make and take to the beach. To make these pops I poured white cranberry juice into popsicle molds and added a few blueberries and a few DelishFish treats. Freeze and in a few hours you’ll have a cool treat you can keep in the cooler for the kids to enjoy.
Summer parties are the best time to share your favorite sweet treats with friends. I love to serve up party snacks in cute containers like these little sand buckets. Fill up a few with popcorn, pretzels, chips and DelishFish candies and you have a party spread in minutes.
And last but not least, I love this cute idea for creating fish bowl treat bags for your kiddos. Grab some cardstock, cut out the fish bowl shape, cut or punch out a circle in the center. Fill a clear bag with DelishFish candies and tape to the paper shape. Simple and so adorable!
So now you have a whole list of ways to make summer treats for your kids to share and enjoy. I hope you’re soaking up these sunny days, spending time with family and checking off your summer bucket list. We’ll all be back-to-school before you know it, so get outside while you can. Oh, and don’t forget to pin these ideas to Pinterest and share them with your favorite mamas!
