My little boy starts kindergarten this year. Don’t ask me how five and a half years have already gone by, I’m still a little bit in denial! He’s super excited though, so I’m excited for him and I want the transition to be a happy, successful one so we’ve started prepping for the big day.

Back to School Supplies - How to be a Classroom Hero This School Year

Do you remember back to school shopping as a kid? It was always something I looked forward to each year. Shopping for new school supplies, picking out clothes and deciding what to wear for the first day. I loved organizing my new pencils and notebooks, packing up my backpack and laying out my outfit.

Last weekend we made a trip to Costco to stock up on a few things we’ll need for the new school year. I made a list of items he’ll need and also a list of things we could donate to his classroom. We encourage our son to always be kind and to think of ways he can help others in his daily life. Whether it’s being a helper at home, lending our neighbors a hand or being thoughtful and generous with his friends, we want him to be mindful of ways he can be kind and caring every day.

Teachers have a big job to do and very often, a small budget to work with when it comes to stocking their classrooms. We picked up a Kleenex® Facial Tissue bundle pack to donate to Brady’s classroom. Kleenex® at Costco is Made to Give More. They come with 10 or 12 boxes per bundle, depending on the pack you purchase, and they have 43% more tissues per box than the best-selling Kleenex box in the rest of the market.

Members save $4.50 on the Kleenex® bundle pack from 8/7 to 9/1 at Costco. Discount is marked on the price tag in the warehouse and will be applied at register. Also available at Costco online.

At home we put together care packs of multiple boxes along with thank you notes to give to his teacher and to drop-off at the school office. He’s very excited to meet his new classmates; it’s all he can talk about right now.
