Valentines Day Ideas for a special Mommy and Me date with your little one. See how we celebrate Valentine’s Day….
Love is in the air and it’s all hearts and sweetness around here! We’ve been busy baking up cookies and cupcakes for Valentine’s Day parties and making goodies to give our friends and family. Nothing says “I love you” like sugar, right? So we spent the afternoon in the kitchen cutting out heart-shaped cookies and spreading sprinkles over everything.
Making cookies is something I love to do with my son, he’s really into it and we always have lots of fun. He loves decorating the cookies, and eating the cookie decorations. He really, really loves eating the decorations!
I rolled out a batch of sugar cookies and pressed out some heart shapes to pop in the oven. We spread a little frosting over them and poured on the sprinkles. I used to be all about making pretty cookies, carefully piping the frosting and adding on the details. But all that goes out the door when you let a small child help. Now it’s a random mess of cookies, some piled high with frosting and others marked with just a dot. And they are all wonderful masterpieces in my mind 🙂
I mean come on, how could you not love that cute little face! Just like the shirt says– “Mom’s Cutest Crush!” I found this shirt from OshKosh B’gosh and had to grab it. Osh Kosh has the cutest kid’s fashion for Valentine’s Day and pretty much everything else. I love their styles and I always find the best play clothes on their site. B’s cool new kicks are on there too.
Frosting makes everything better. That’s our motto, lol!
And I noticed at the end that not a single cookie in our batch had a chocolate candy on it. Hmmmmm, I wonder where all those went…..
Hope your Valentine’s Day is filled with love and sweetness! Share your plans and favorite mommy and me moments with us in the comments or on our Facebook page. xoxo
