Earlier I shared that one of the most important skills we are working on with Brady this summer is learning how to swim. With beach vacations, lake trips and pool playdates, we spend a LOT of time in the water. The biggest challenge in teaching a child to swim was to help them to get over their, very natural, fear of the water. I enrolled my little guy in a swim class, but he just could not get his head under water. But with a little patience and a few coins, the problem was solved. As you can see below, the fear of water was a huge stumbling block for me and prevented me from learning to swim until I was nearly forced into it in high school gym class.
