“One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.” — Oscar Wilde

“We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle.” — Marilyn Monroe

“Jewelry is the most transformative thing you can wear.” — Iris Apfel

When I was six years old my mother gave me my first piece of real jewelry. It was a small silver ring with a pink stone and she explained to me that it was a very special gift and that I should take very good care of it. I treasured that little gem like it was the most important thing in the world. Wearing it made me feel special, and I proudly showed it off to everyone.

That little ring marked the beginning of my love for jewelry. Through the years I have acquired many more pieces, each with it’s own story. Some are expensive, timeless pieces I’ve received as gifts or given myself to mark a milestone. Others are accessories meant to match a style or make a statement.

Each year the latest jewelry trends are revealed at JCK Las Vegas tradeshow. JCK is North America’s most comprehensive and innovative jewelry destination and the place where jewelry trends are born. I’m so excited about this year’s trend report on what’s popular in accessories. Here’s a sneak peek:

Geometrics. I love how transformative wearing a geometric style can be. Paired with a simple outfit a geometric style bracelet or necklace makes a statement. They are interesting pieces that catch the eye as well as the curiousity of others.

Modern Pearls. Nothing stuffy about these stylish designs. Modern pearls are meant to be worn for more than just special occasions. I love that this classic has been updated to express your style in many different ways.

Industrial Arts. Chic pieces made from mixed metals, these sparkly styles turn anyone into an instant trendsetter. More than just an accessory, you’ll feel like you own a work of art. I love the boldness of this necklace by Fern Freeman, so much detail!

So when you start scouting out trends and pairing up necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings to your outfits, remember these. Adding a few new styles to your jewelry collection will keep your wardrobe looking fresh and fabulous!
