Disney BoardWalk Inn at Walt Disney World – I was recently invited to spend a few days at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort for a media event with our friends at Walt Disney World® Resort to explore more of the magic that Disney has added for families to enjoy. A big thank you to Walt Disney World for sponsoring this content so that we can share it with you. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Stepping into the BoardWalk Inn is like wandering into another era, you feel as if you’ve just waltzed right into all the elegance and glamor of 1940’s Atlantic City. Open the doors to the lobby and you’re immediately greeted with all the details and grandeur, from the gilded horse chandelier above to the vintage carousel and miniature roller coaster that sits amid the antique sofas and sitting areas.
The BoardWalk Inn is just steps away from Epcot and a short walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s convenient location makes it great for families who want to visit the parks and also have quick access to their hotel without traveling far. Staying at a Disney resort that is close to the parks is especially helpful when you are traveling with a small child. You can take a mid-day break to nap and recharge without losing a lot of vacation time waiting for transportation.
Standard rooms can accommodate up to 5 people. Our room was spacious enough for a family to be quite comfortable with the added convenience of a full kitchen plus washer and dryer. I was extra impressed with the large soaking tub and I liked the separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower.
Kids will love the carnival themed Luna Park pool featuring a clown coaster slide and elephants splashing water.
During the day guests can relax on the grand balcony overlooking the courtyard lawn and enjoy the scenic waterside view. Or take a stroll along the Boardwalk and do some shopping. The Boardwalk offers more shopping, dining and entertainment options than many other Disney resorts.
Things to Do at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
- Rent a surrey bike (2 person, 4 person or 6 person) and go for a ride around the promenade
- Shop for exclusive BoardWalk Inn gifts, trinkets and souvenirs at the The Screen Door General Store, Disney’s Character Carnival and Thimbles & Threads.
- Grab coffee and something sweet at the Boardwalk Bakery and sit by the water.
- Watch street performer acts entertaining crowds with magic tricks, miming and acrobatic fetes.
- Enjoy ice cream or carney style treats while you pop a squat on the unbelievably realistic faux grass courtyard lawn
- Sip on “enchanting elixirs” and “curious concoctions” at the AbracadaBAR while you browse the collection of magician’s memorabilia in every little nook
- Sing along to all your favorite tunes at Jellyrolls Piano Bar
- Kick up your heels at the Atlantic Dance Hall nightclub
Disney BoardWalk Resort Dining Options
- BoardWalk Bakery – Coffee, baked goods, espresso, small bites.
- Trattoria al Forno- authentic Italian restaurant offering traditional pasta dishes and Italian fare
- ESPN Club- sports themed bar and restaurant that serves lunch and dinner
- Flying Fish Cafe- Dinner only contemporary American restaurant serving seafood, prime steaks and gourmet meals.
- Big River Grille and Brewing Works- Micr0-brew bar and restaurant offering American pub fare and craft beers
- Pizza Window- pizza by the slice or order a whole pie
- Leaping Horse Libations- pool side cafe serving drinks, sandwiches and hotdogs
In the morning we grabbed breakfast from the BoardWalk Bakery which offers a breakfast platter, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and other delicious baked goods as well as coffee drinks.
Later in the evening we made our way over to the Abracadabar to sample a few libations before dinner. Prepare to be hypnotized by this watering hole reminiscent of the Golden Age. Rich burgundy and gold, ornate details and magicians props fill every corner of your eye. Mixologists practice their own slight of hand while creating specialty cocktails that seem to magically disappear.
After enjoying our cocktails we made our way to the Flying Fish, an upscale American-style restaurant that serves seafood, steak and more. Walking in you can’t help but notice the stylish decor above, the open kitchen and the sophisticated vibe. This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a nice dinner, a few glasses of wine and great food.
I had the plancha-seared Hokkaido scallops and they were absolutely amazing. Perfectly seared and plated with the most delicious grits I’ve ever tasted.

Those scallops look so delicious. Boardwalk is such a cool place at Disney.
They were amazing! The Flying Fish is a great restaurant if you ever happen to be in Orlando. We really enjoyed it. And the BoardWalk is so much fun!
Sounds like a great resort. We have stayed at Caribbean Beach for the last 5 years – this year we are going to the Yacht Club 🙂
Fun! My goal is to keep resort hopping with each additional WDW vacation until we’ve hit them all – and Boardwalk is still on my list!
Oh wow that looks like an amazing place to visit. I would love to see that in person!
Wow food looks so yummy and i love the photographs. Boardwalk is so cool place at Disney.
Oh my goodness. This resort looks amazing. We will be visiting there soon, and I think this is where I am going to want to stay. Gorgeous!
This looks so so cute!! we stayed at the all star sports hotel when we went to disney which was fun but this looks way better haha. Next time…
Oh wow! That is the place I would really enjoy! And the food looks so delicious! An amazing place to visit!
This looks like it would be a great vacation. Those scallops look so tasty.
They were AMAZING! I’m still thinking about them, lol. If you are in Orlando I highly recommend grabbing a meal at the Flying Fish. It was delicious!
I’ve never been to Disney world before but always wanted to go.

Ive never been to this, but it looks amazing! We are going to disney in January.
There are so many options of places to stay at in Disney, and the Boardwalk Inn seems like a really great place to start! I like how it’s in close proximity and very accomodating to guests.
Wow! Congrats on being invited there! I just keep staring at the lobby of the BoardWalk Inn because it is simply stunning! Looks like you had a fantastic family trip!
Oh how fun! we would love to go there one day! We just haven’t sat down and planned a trip to Orlando yet!
I can’t wait to take a family trip to Disney soon! I love the photos. Such a fun and magical experience!!
Well this is new since my last visit. Everything looks amazing!! The food is drool worthy and I’ll take whatever that purple cocktail is!
It would be amazing to to stay at the Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. I am planning a trip next year to Disney.
This looks like such the perfect mix between fun for the adults and little ones! Plus, all of these pictures look so beautiful!
I have yet to go to a disney resort besides when I was a toddler. It is something I want to do so bad as an adult though.
I’ve heard great things about The Flying Fish from friends who live in area. I love the retro feel of this resort and the fact that is so close to the action. Some of the resorts at Disney are farther away from the parks so getting back to your hotel is a huge effort.
So true! It is so nice to be close to the parks, especially when you have small children. Traveling back and forth ends up taking up so much of your time, it’s truly worth it to stay at a Disney resort that has everything your family needs and the best location for your itinerary.
It definitely does look fun! I just love disneyland, and I want to go back so bad!! I love the interior of the inn. Well-decorated as expected. http://www.clairebearblogs.com
It’s so nice to be able to stay there! I love everything about it, from the inn to the surrounding establishments. There’s definitely plenty to look forward to here.
It looks like a wonderful place to take your kids and spend the day! I’ve never been and I’ve never even be to the Disneyland before haha! I’d love to go! x
Gosh what a wonderful looking resort! I can only daydream about staying in a place as nice as that!
This place looks amazing, I really want to go to Disney World one day as I know it will be a once in a lifetime experience x
Disney has the best hotels. They are always so thoughtful and intricate. No little detail is overlooked. I think this may be one of the few that I haven’t stayed at before but I will have to stay here on our next trip.
I have never stayed in a Disney Hotel and missed to stay in one in Orlando! This makes me wanna go right now!
It’s all so cute! I would love to check this place out with my family! The rooms are so cute too! It’s all adorable and looks like a lot of fun!
It would be so nice to stay here with the family! I love that there are so many food choices here too! I love Disney resorts!
It’s been a while since we stayed at a Disney resort. It’s awesome to stay here and just enjoy everything that it has to offer!

This place looks amazing! I’m sure that both adults and kids will enjoy being there!
We love Disney’s Boardwalk resort!!!! We went when it first opened and want to go back so bad!
I would love to stay at The Disney BoardWalk Inn at Walt Disney World. I always love staying at hotels with a kitchen.
It is a wonderful hotel and the spacious rooms are so nice! I agree, it makes life so much easier to have a refrigerator in room. And the washer and dryer too!
Seems like a nice place for the family….
Wow…this is a whole different side of Disney than I’ve ever seen. How do you go about getting hooked up like this?!
Oh my god, this all looks so super amazing! I have dreamed of going to Disney forever, but I haven’t made it yet. Someday though!
The Boardwalk resort looks fab and seems to have lots to offer. The food looks great too and the rooms look and sound really comfortable.
We love Disneyland and visit often but don’t have the chance to go to Disney World as much. What a fun media event…and perfect resort for a long family weekend getaway.
We’re planning our trip this year to Disney. It’s so nice to know about the different hotels, what they have to offer and try to gather as much information as possible.
What an awesome travel recap! I would love to come here and visit I am trying to go to orlando really soon so this is perfect.
