I’m sharing how we gave our guest bedroom a refresh to get it ready for friends and family visiting over the holiday weekend. This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sam’s Club, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sometimes a few simple changes can make a big difference when it comes to home improvement. Since we’ve moved into our new house we’ve had a list of projects to tackle and little by little we’ve made lots of progress. The guest bedroom was one of the projects that fell to the bottom of the list, but with friends coming into town this weekend we needed to get it done.
I guess you could call this a guest bedroom decorating project more than a makeover because we were starting nearly from scratch. I would show you the before pictures but there wasn’t very much to show. Just a bed with some moving boxes stacked on top of it , a night stand and a dresser. This room really needed some TLC to make it guest ready.
What makes you feel comfortable and welcome when you’re a guest in someone’s home? I always appreciate a cozy bed, clean sheets and good fluffy towels. So I decided to start with the basics and get everything our guests would need to make them feel right at home. I hear large scale bedroom sets are always a welcoming addition to a guest room! They look so comfy!
We’ve been members of Sam’s Club for a few years and I love shopping there, I always find all the things we need and we save so much money. Just recently I’ve started shopping on Samsclub.com too. Because shopping with a preschooler is pure torture. If I can order it online and have it shipped right to our doorstep, it’s a win for everyone!
On my shopping list for our guest bedroom:
- Mattress topper to make our bed extra comfy
- Great sheets
- Bath towels
- Washcloths and hand towels
I ordered the Dreamfinity™ 3” Cooling Memory Foam Mattress Topper online from SamsClub.com. We bought one of these in-store a few months ago and we love it. It’s got Gel Technology to cool you while you sleep so you wake up refreshed from a great night’s sleep. A new mattress topper is a great value if you want to refresh your bed and make it as comfortable as a new one without buying a whole new mattress. And the Dreamfinity™ mattress topper is made in the USA, but only available exclusively at Sam’s Club and online at SamsClub.com.
We also love our Dreamfinity™ Cooling Gel & Memory Foam Pillows so I added those to my SamsClub.com order. I swear this pillow is the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept on. A love laying my head down on it when we crawl into bed at night, the cooling sensation is pure bliss.
I ordered a crisp new set of white Member's Mark 450-Thread-Count Sheet Set for the guest bed from SamsClub.com. You can also find them in-store and in other colors (they are exclusively online or in-store at Sam’s.) I love that these sheets are wrinkle-free and made with a quick-dry design. The set comes with 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet and 1 pillowcase with the twin set or 2 pillowcases for all other sets. The Extended 450 Thread Count collection is available online.
What makes a set of bath towels better than the rest? Well, let me tell you, all towels are NOT made the same. Member’s Mark Hotel Premier Collection 100% Cotton Luxury Bath Towels use a special “air rich” technology that ensures an ultra-soft, thick and amazingly absorbent towel. Another awesome thing I love about these towels is that there’s way less lint because the fibers are twisted tightly and hold together better than other towels. The dyes used are resistant to benzoyl peroxide so colors won’t fade even after being in contact with cosmetics. And they are exclusively available at Sam’s Club and SamsClub.com.
I ordered Member’s Mark Hotel Premier Collection 100% Cotton Luxury Hand Towels and Member’s Mark Hotel Premier Collection 100% Cotton Luxury Washcloths to complete the set.
Our guest bedroom is outfitted for overnight guests and ready for friends and family. So if you’re planning a visit I promise you’ll get a good night’s sleep and maybe even a chocolate chip cookie or two. That’s my other tip for making guests feel right at home—feed them well!
Summer is the perfect time to think about giving your home a “refresh” to make it more comfortable for yourself and your guests. Simple changes like replacing linens and towels are an easy, budget friendly makeover for your guest bedroom or master bedroom. Adding a mattress topper and new pillows can completely transform a bed for better sleep quality, something we all could benefit from!
