Women are at a higher risk of developing gray hair than men. The main reason is that they have significantly less testosterone, which leads to less pigment in their hair.

The reason why women’s hair turns gray faster than men’s has to do with genetics and hormones. Women have more melanin than men, so they’re more likely to develop graying earlier on in life. Hormones also play a role because they can speed up the natural aging process that leads to graying.
