Fun kids snacks that are perfect for a day at the beach, a cool summer party or simply a sweet treat. T

We’ve just returned from our little get-away trip to the beach and I’m missing it already! The ocean is my spirit animal and nothing makes me happier than spending a day splashing in the waves, building sandcastles and soaking up some sunshine with my sweet boy. Luckily, much of our summer is spent on the beaches of Maine or southward bound to visit my grandmother in South Carolina. So many of my happiest childhood memories are of our family trips down there. There are loads of places that you can go on holiday though, you’ve just got to find the one that you think you’ll enjoy the most.

Easy Snacks to Pack for a Beach Day with Kids

When we’re heading to the beach with kids, I’ve learned one thing: always pack more snacks than you think you need. Between swimming, digging in the sand and running around, kids get hungry fast.

The best beach snacks are easy to grab, not too messy and travel well in a cooler or beach bag. Fresh fruit, protein snacks and simple grab-and-go treats tend to work best for keeping kids energized during a long day in the sun.

Here are a few more easy snack ideas that work great for beach days.

🍉 Fresh Fruit Cups

Fruit is one of the easiest beach snacks because it’s refreshing and hydrating.

Great options

  • Watermelon cubes

  • Grapes

  • Strawberries

  • Pineapple chunks

Pack them in small containers so kids can grab and go.

🧀 Cheese & Crackers Snack Packs

These are always a hit and super filling.

What to pack

  • String cheese or Babybel cheese

  • Whole-grain crackers

  • Turkey slices or mini pepperoni

Just portion everything into small snack containers.

🍇 Frozen Grapes

Frozen grapes are one of my favorite beach tricks.

They stay cold in the cooler and feel like a little popsicle treat when the kids eat them later in the day.

🥨 Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

These are salty, crunchy and packed with protein, which helps keep kids full longer during active beach days.

🥕 Veggie Cups with Dip

If your kids like dipping snacks, this is an easy healthy option.

Ideas

  • Baby carrots

  • Cucumbers

  • Bell pepper slices

Add a small container of ranch or hummus.

🍫 Trail Mix Snack Bags

Trail mix is perfect because it doesn’t melt easily and travels well.

Try mixing:

  • Pretzels

  • Cheerios

  • Mini chocolate chips

  • Dried fruit

Kids love having their own little snack bag.

Pro Tip: Pack Snacks in a “Beach Snack Box”

One trick that makes beach snacking easier is using a compartment snack box or divided container. You can fill each section with different treats so kids can choose what they want without digging through the cooler.

It’s basically like bringing a portable charcuterie board for kids, and it keeps everything organized.

Popsicles are another yummy summer treat that you can make and take to the beach. To make these pops I poured white cranberry juice into popsicle molds and added a few blueberries and a few DelishFish treats. Freeze and in a few hours you’ll have a cool treat you can keep in the cooler for the kids to enjoy.
