Kwitter, the cat toilet training system by Litter Kwitter and the CitiKitty Cat Toilet Training Kit are two popular methods for teaching your cat to use the toilet. We tried them both, here are our tips and tricks for getting your cat to use the potty quickly and easily. Litter Kwitter Cat Toilet Training System the Easiest Way That Really Works

I love our cat. He’s a good snuggler and great at playing hide-and-seek with our toddler when I really need someone to entertain him long enough for me to get dinner on the table. But I don’t love cleaning the cat litter box! And I don’t love buying cat litter every month, so we started looking at other options.

Potty training a cat, I know what you’re probably thinking. Is this for real? If you’re like me, you remember that famous scene from the Focker’s movie and you’re thinking, no way it’s that simple. But being that we are always up for the challenge, we decided to try it out and test the toilet training your cat theory.

First, don’t attempt this system with a younger kitten. Both toilet training systems recommend that your cat be at least three months old, the older the better. Wait till your cat is ready to begin potty training.

How long does it take? A few weeks. Some people have had success after just two weeks and some take a few more. Give it 4 to 5 weeks on average.

Which system is best? We tried both and in the end found the Litter Kwitter to be better. The Litter Kwitter has a bigger ring and is made of a sturdier plastic.

Go slow. Don’t try to rush your cat through the steps, give him plenty of time to get familiar with each transition. It took us a little while to get our cat comfortable with moving the tray from floor to toilet, we had to backtrack the first time we tried and give him a little more time.

Also, if you can reserve a bathroom just for the cat, we found that works best. Cat’s have an extremely sensitive nose so giving them their own bathroom will avoid confusion or deterrence due to other smells. We used the downstairs bathroom since it was easiest to just block off and give our cat his own space for a few weeks.
