Family Pictures Ideas

Trying to decide on what kind of family picture you want to take and then actually putting it all together can be a little tricky. I started early this year because I knew if I put it off too long the Christmas craziness would take over and I’d never get them done.

I started collecting ideas and inspiration from Pinterest and finally decided I wanted to do something a little glam but with a woodsy, rustic feel. There are so many adorable family Christmas pictures pinned to my idea board, but I kept going back to a few that really caught my eye. I loved the little bit of sparkle in some of the photos, and I also loved the Christmas plaid that popped out of some of the family photos, in blankets and clothing.

Lucky enough, I remembered that I had bought Brady this adorable plaid suit jacket that was on sale after last Christmas. I pulled it out of his closet and knew it would be just perfect. I found my sequined skirt on Rent the Runway and fell in love with it, so our color scheme basically came about because of those two things.

I couldn’t believe how gorgeous some of our family photos turned out. Trying to get a three-year-old to pose for pics is nearly impossible, so I was completely amazed we managed to capture so many good ones. It was tough to decide on which one was the winner, we narrowed it down to two favorites. I love the one we chose for our holiday cards, it feels more like Christmas with the plaid and the pretty wreath.

It took a little bit for me to choose which card I loved most from Tiny Prints collection there are so many cute ones! But I love the one I finally chose, it’s even got a touch of sparkle with the glittered Christmas lettering and the inserts! I found a few more fun things on their site that I had to have ……

How amazing are these pillows! I love the chalkboard style print and the pretty snowflake. They really brighten up our living room and make it feel like Christmas. They’re awesome to give as gifts too, people love getting presents that are unique and thoughtful, and made just for them.

And here is our mantel all dressed up and decorated for the holidays. I love the gold and white, it really makes our fireplace looks so elegant and shimmery. I found these darling yarn trees at Target, along with the gold ornaments and the hurricane glass. There’s another one of my favorites from our photo shoot I ordered, look at Brady’s sweet face.

Wrapping presents is another one of my favorite things to do during the holidays! Anything that let’s me get crafty and creative, I get excited about. I love coordinating gift wrap and tying on adding extra details to make our presents cute. This wrapping paper is so perfect! I get to share all our cute family pics that didn’t make it on the holiday card. I had a hard time cutting it though, it’s just so pretty. Kinda like when you have a cake that’s so gorgeous you don’t want to cut into it, lol!

So there’s a peek at our holiday greetings and all the fun, festive things we’ve been working on. Hope you are enjoying the holidays, it goes by so fast. I can’t believe Christmas is already just a few weeks away. I need to get these cards in the mail! Oh, and that’s another thing I love about our cards. They came already addressed and ready to go! You can upload your address book and Tiny Prints takes care of the rest. Such a time saver,  and it makes the cards look neat and polished. Much better than my handwriting, especially once my tired hands scrawl out the last batch.

Merry Christmas ya’ll! Happy Holidays
