It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holiday season is finally here and I’m so excited to start filling our home with holiday cheer. We do a lot of hosting during the winter months. With friends and family visiting from out of town and holiday parties almost every week in December, it’s busy at our house. So I love to decorate and add all the special touches to get our home ready for guests and celebrations.
Hostess with the Mostess
A good host knows that the key to making guests feel at home starts with setting the scene. A few simple essentials will create a cozy, inviting atmosphere and set the mood. I like to start with filling the air with familiar smells that will put everyone in good spirits. I picked up a few of the GladeⓇ Holiday Collection fragrance products on display at Harris Teeter to give each room and our house a wonderful scent.
For the front room where our Christmas tree will soon be I’m using the Tree Lighting Wonder™ jar candle . It has bright notes of dark green needles from Spruce and Fir blended with cool Eucalyptus and Lavender.
In the living room and kitchen I’m using a GladeⓇ Cozy Cider Sipping™ jar candle to fill the air with delightful apple notes and the comforting scent of spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. The pretty glass container of the GladeⓇ jar candle is designed to quickly fill the room with fragrance that lasts well after the candle is snuffed out. I also like to use GladeⓇ Aerosol spray in our entryway to eliminate odors and freshen the air.
In the bedrooms and bathrooms I use GladeⓇ PlugIns® air fresheners. They add lasting and continuous scented oil fragrance that lasts up to 30 days on low setting.
Making Your Home Merrier
Once our home is filled with wonderful, inviting smells it’s time to get the holiday vibe going with the sounds the season. A little background music playing softly will brighten the mood and get your guests feeling festive. I mix it up with classic , familiar favorites everyone knows and modern songs that will get people moving and grooving.
Spreading Christmas Cheer
Now that we’ve set the scene and our home is ready for holiday guests, I like to add one more special touch everyone enjoys — Cookies! Bake up a batch of cookies and keep a big jar on the kitchen counter so you’re guests will always have something to nibble on. Sugar cookies, gingerbread, chocolate chip…. anything sweet will do.
Be on the lookout for Glade® Holiday Limited Edition Fragrances on display at your local Kroger store now! I love to pick up a few to wrap and give as gifts, everyone loves a great candle. Happy Holidays!
