Making holiday cookies is a family tradition that brings back so many memories for me. We’re making chocolate chip cookies with a peppermint twist……read more
I have been compensated by Immaculate Baking for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.

One of the best things about this time of year is all the yummy baked goods that fill our counter space! Christmas cakes, gingerbread houses, brownies and cookies of all kinds make their way in and out of our kitchen. We get some sweets, we give some sweets, we eat plenty of sweets, lol! I had a brownie for breakfast this morning, it was delicious.

Recently, while I was grocery shopping at Whole Foods I came across a brand that caught my eye. Immaculate Baking makes wholesome baking products, many of which are certified gluten-free or organic. We try to shop for foods that are organic as much as we can, so I grabbed a few refrigerated cookie dough packages to try. I’m all for the ready to bake stuff this time of year. It means less clean-up and less work, more time spent on the fun stuff like decorating and eating the goodies with my little cookie monster.Holiday Cookies- Candy Cane Chocolate Chip with Immaculate Baking Brand Whole Foods via Misty Nelson @frostedevents

Holiday Cookies -Organic, Gluten Free, and DELICIOUS!

We decided to try the Immaculate Baking Chocolate Chunk cookie dough first. Who doesn’t love a good chocolate chip cookie? And these are gluten free with no artificial flavors and no artificial preservatives. Even though the dough comes ready to pop on the pan and into the oven Brady insisted on helping me shape the cookies. He also wanted to get his cookie cutters out, even though I explained we didn’t need those for this batch. He said “that’s okay mom, I’m just using my maginaaaaation to make dinosaur reindeers.” Oh, the mind of a three-year-old! He makes me smile and laugh all day long.

I also picked up the Gingerbread Spice and Sugar Cookie Immaculate Baking cookie dough packs. We have a lot of cookies to make this year! Some for B’s preschool class, some for church, for our holiday cookie exchange… and that’s not counting the extras because my husband samples two or three from each batch.

Holiday Cookie Recipe- Chocolate Chip Candy Cane Cookies

Our cookies came out of the oven looking AMAZING and after they cooled off we went to work giving them a little holiday twist. I melted some white chocolate and we crushed some candy canes. Easiest way to crush is by placing a few in a plastic bag and using a rolling pin or hard plastic bottle to crush. That might have been Brady’s favorite part, he’s into smashing and destroying things. Boys!

Dip the cookies in the melted chocolate (make sure it’s not too hot!) and then dip them in the crushed candy canes. Give them a few minutes to cool and your Chocolate Chip Candy Cane treats are all ready to eat.
