Do you love to give? We’re sharing how you can give a box of CheeriosCheerios to someone you love with the Buy One, Give One promotion at Walmart. Thanks to Cheerios for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.Â
We spend most weekends at “mop and pops.” That’s what the kids call Grandma and Grandpa. “Pop” was kinda set in place from the start and somehow they all just started calling Angela “Mop” and it stuck. I love it, it’s the sweetest thing!
Mop and Pop’s house is always full of people. Family and friends are always popping in and out to share a meal, sit and visit or stay a little while longer.  It’s the kind of place where you’re always treated like family even if you weren’t actually born into our brood.
Sometimes we have pizza parties, sometimes we grill out and sometimes we just flip it and do breakfast for dinner like we did last week. What’s better than a little milk and cereal any time of day right? And the one thing we can always all agree on is that we all love Cheerios. I grew up with that iconic yellow box on the breakfast table and it brings back so many memories watching all the kids gather around Mop’s table grabbing at the Cheerios box.

It’s always loud and a little messy but that’s how the best memories are made.
I love these moments when everyone is really together. Unplugged from the video games, smartphones and all the distractions. Just the sound of little giggles and squeals along with the occasional crunch of a smashed Cheerio underfoot. Or bottom!

The best part about this super simple activity is that it’s a reminder to our little people that it feels good to give. Giving doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, it can be something as simple as a box of cereal. The act is small but the reward is huge.
How are you teaching your little ones the joy of giving?
We love Cheerios in our house. I have been buying them since my kids were babies – they are a definite favorite around here.
What a fabulous and sweet time at Mop & Pops! (love that…by the way)…and LOVE that Cheerios are still a yummy and cherished tradition in families. I still eat them as an adult and love them so much! Maybe I’ll make a necklace too – accessories always make the outfit!
Sounds like Mops and Pop’s place is the place to be! Cheerios was on the table as I was growing up, and both of my girls. It was one of the first crunchy finger foods that my oldest daughter ate. (that was before the Gerber Puffs)
I love this and I love brands that support other charities or have some kind of social justice cause! Go Cheerios!
Cheerios are a happy part of our home. We both ate Cheerios as a kid and fed them to our daughter. A family tradition!
My kids are actually really quite generous – meaning they want to give away everything they have. I think it is very sweet to see how great they feel when they are giving to others.
My kids used to love making necklaces like this! It’s so great for their fine motor skills too!
I love this! Growing up, we didn’t have much money. But my Mom always made sure to donate boxes of Cheerios to our local food bank because she said they were “lifesavers” for Moms. I just started feeding my youngest Cheerios last week!
My children enjoy playing with Cheerios, and eating them too! Fun idea to share a box.
I bet making the necklaces really kept them occupied for a while x
It’s been years since I’ve walked down the cereal aisle. I have lots of memories of cheerios and family breakfasts.
That looks like a fun idea. Making a Cheerios necklace is a great way to bond with your children. I don’t have any small kids to do this craft with, but maybe someday I will have grandchildren to do this with.
We love Cheerios in our house! We share them all the time, my kiddos love them! This is awesome!
I love Cheerios. I sometimes buy them to eat as a snack, though I do it without the milk. It’s weird but it’s how I like them.
This is a really cool campaign! I love the idea of cheerios necklaces too, what a fun craft! we love cheerios in this house though so not sure they would last long enough :p
It’s important for me to teach my kids to share and to share their blessings to other as well. These days, we need an extra dose of kindness to share to the world and it will always start at home.
I would totally share my box with my kiddos. They love them as much as their mama does. Haha!
There is nothing quite like a bowl of cherrios and what a great way to help teach kids about sharing 🙂
My children all absolutely love Cheerios. They like to share with each other. 🙂
Cheerios have always been a staple in my home. I really love the precious photos and video in this post!
I ate them all the time when I was younger. I am craving them now!
We love Cheerios in our house too. The only “flavor” we don’t care for is fruity cheerios… But every other flavor is awesome and the kids constantly mix different flavors together.
Cheerios have always been my favourite cereal and I love having breakfast for dinner!
Even though Cheerios wasn’t part of my family growing up, they are very much part of my family now with how awesome they are for kids! I love this campaign and the cheerios necklace is BRILLIANT. Don’t know why I haven’t done that yet!
Your photos are darling. My family would love to make a handmade gift for their out of town and out of state grandparents!
Aww I love this so much! I would love to do this with my kids to teach them to share and be kind to people. It’s easy for kids to think about themselves and this would be great!
We love cheerios in his house!!! It’s literally one of the only cereals every last one of us can agree on being delicious!
This is awesome! I am sure my kids will love this idea!
I eat a bowl of cheerios with a banana every morning. I would share a box of cheerios with my children.
My kiddos love the cereal aisle! Oh the choices! We do enjoy Cheerios though. Such a great brand!
This sounds like a great way to stock up on a household staple and do something wonderful, too! I love the idea behind this campaign.
This is a really lovely idea! Its great to teach children the importance of giving. Plus those necklaces are such a simple but effective idea! 🙂
This is too cute! Teaching little ones to be able to share and to show thanks to others is so important.
Wow this is cool! It is such a fun idea and I am sure they all had fun doing it.
We always have cheerios in the house. My children loves it and so am I. It’s fun to make necklace out of cheerios. The kids love making them.
I love Cheerios, I just eat it without milk sometimes… good to see the little ones having fun doing things that they like.
I had no problems teaching my kids the joy of giving. When they were little, we started with the lesson of “sharing” then progressed to “giving.” Now that they are grown ups, they love volunteering their time to the nearby retirement home. They help with some of the work so the staff could get some rest. I love this campaign of Cheerios. What a great way to teach kids to learn to give.
Cheerios is such an household name. It is hard to find someone who has never heard about it.
I haven’t tried Cheerios and hope this is also available to our nearest Duty free store 🙂
