Somehow my sweet little baby has grown into a big boy in the blink of an eye. Or at least it feels that way to me. Now that we are in the toddler stage, all the tantrums and fits make me long for the days when I could just curl up with him and snuggle for hours. Now I can barely pick him up!
From the moment we met I was completely obsessed with his sweet face. I loved laying with him pressed against my chest, listening to his soft breathing while I kissed the top of his head a million times. It’s incredible how strong and deep a mother’s love is from the very beginning, and it’s so important to continue to nurture that bond. One of the best ways is skin-to-skin contact between mommy and baby.
Bonding with Baby, Skin to Skin
I love that WaterWipes is helping to share the importance of skin to skin bonding between child and parent with videos like this one. We’ve been using WaterWipes with our little one since he was a baby because it’s safe and gentle on his sensitive skin. WaterWipes contain only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. They are strong and durable without all the harsh, harmful chemicals.
Protecting my son’s skin is just as important to me now as it was when he was a newborn. That’s why we still use WaterWipes everyday, from cleaning his face before bed to wiping away sticky ice cream and all the other things toddlers pick up along the way.
I keep WaterWipes with me for all our family activities, whether we are playing at the park or having fun on the boardwalk. Our family bonding time has expanded from baby carrying around the city to toddler chasing, but we still make sure to make time to connect as a family.
Bonding with baby begins with that very first skin-to-skin connection and it’s important to continue building that bond as your baby grows. Even though my child has outgrown the baby wearing stage I still make sure we keep a close physical bond with lots of hugs and bedtime snuggles.
So if you are a new momma, make sure you’re taking the time to hold your baby close and give him all the benefits of skin-to-skin bonding. From regulating your baby’s temperature to stimulating his brain activity, every mom should experience the magic of what her body can do.
